The Empire State Building Observatory
The Empire State Building Observatory is beacon for international and domestic tourists alike, and offers unmatched views of New York and neighboring states from its world-famous 86th floor observatory all year long.
Get skyward and discover what the city looks like when you are 1,050 feet (320 meters) high at the top of New York's most iconic skyscraper, at the 86th Floor Observatory. The Observatory, with its popular 360-degree outdoor deck, also has indoor viewing galleries for guests to enjoy the views rain or shine, day or night.
You'll zip right up to the 86th Floor Observatory in convenient high speed, automatic elevators. Looking for an enhanced viewing experience? High-powered binoculars are available on the promenades at a minimal cost. And if you’re searching for that perfect Empire State Building souvenir, you’ll find something memorable at the Gift Shop, located on the 80th Floor.
Visitors with tickets purchased online will go with their voucher directly to the ticket window and then through the security check. The Observatory is wheelchair accessible.
A Multimedia Tour Guide App of the Empire State Building can be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google play. It serves as your own personal tour guide, taking you all the way from the ground floor to the 360° open-air views of the Observation Deck. (Available in English, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, and German).
You can now enjoy one-of-a-kind mini-shows in the elevators on the ascent and descent to the Observatory. The ascent show takes you back in time to the construction of the Empire State Building, spotlighting workers, machinery and materials. On the descent you will see different features of the art deco masterpiece lobby with the features floating in to form the iconic mural that adorns the Fifth Avenue entrance.
You can now choose our Day and Night ticket that allows you access to the Empire State Building Observatory twice in one day! See the spectacular views of New York during the day and the glittering skyline at night after 9pm.
